Breaking News 6pm Show at KMBC
This is the first show I produced by myself at Kansas City, MO. I wrote, made graphics, stacked, etc. this show while at my internship at KMBC. I am the first ever intern the station has let produce a show before. The 6 p.m. show is a hyperlocal show for KMBC. I talked with my EP and mentor that day, and we chose to highlight breaking news at the top of the show. I'm very happy with the result!
Patrick Mahomes Breakout 6pm Show at KMBC
For this segment at my internship at KMBC, I was in charge of the B block. For this particular day, I wanted to highlight the video from Jimmy Kimmel the night before with Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He is beloved in KC, so I thought this breakout on his time on the show, and his (hopeful) win at the Espys that night would jive well with the audience. The anchors even chatted about it in the toss to weather!

Along with being a news producer, I have also been a digital producer and Facebook Live producer at KOMU. Those experiences have taught me the value and need of cross-platform promotion. During my summer internship at KMBC, I learned even more about diving into social media for anchor breakouts and promoting digital extras.
